Welcome to William the Wonder Bear and Other Stories! My name is Laura Chanoux and this blog is a collection of my stories from past and present, primarily focusing on travel and culture. My goal has been to get back to writing creatively, something that I loved doing while I was growing up but had mostly stopped by my senior year of college. Analytical papers were challenging and enjoyable, but blogging stretches my skills in new ways. Hopefully it's as fun for you to read as it is for me to write!
I grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, which is known for the Battle of Lexington that started the American Revolution. (Concord, the next town over, was pretty important, too.) I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011 — Go
Blue!— and while I was there I studied history
and French, played in the Michigan Pops Orchestra, fell in love with Ann Arbor, and went to a lot of football
games.
During college I also began traveling internationally for the first time and loved it. So far I've lived in Italy for a month and France for two. From March to November 2012, my fiance (now husband) Eric and I traveled around Southeast Asia and Europe. Eric has his own website, The Wandering Lawyer.
Thanks for reading!
